Today it was a beautiful morning with many birds around feeding from the feeder at the house. I photographed hummingbirds, stellar jay and a golden yellow bird with a black head and thick beak which I will try and find out the identity of today. We set out southbound for http://www.missionwolf.com/menu/visit/ but although the country was beautiful, the road was a dirt track, and finally the actual site was a mishmash of hippyish buildings where the volunteers were willing to tell us how wonderful they were and seeing the wolves caged in smallish pens I left feeling disappointed for the wolves and us. We were asked if we wanted a wolf to lick our faces but it was not an idea that appealed to me. I guess the folk who volunteer are happy in their work and I suspect most were loan wolves anyway gathering together for a show of support for the wolves. We returned quickly to Westcliffe instead.
A late lunch at the bowling alley and a peak at some of the local shops took us thru to the late afternoon and as I took all photos with my camera there are none to show you today. I should have bought the iPhone to camera cable I saw advertised in NZ. So maybe some photos later on today after the thunderstorms and from the hot-tub
And we had two deer tonight at the salt lick. I had a number of great photos of them yahoo but on my camera, sorry.

Looking forward to seeing these colourful US birds... is it the Mo camera that is the culprit?
